React Native uses native components, which makes a React Native application very similar to an application developed with native technologies. React Native uses native code via a bridge (a brick that links javascript code to iOS and Android native code), which can sometimes be a source of slowdown, but the differences are in most cases imperceptible to users.

The new React Native architecture also replaces the bridge with JSI (JavaScript Interface), which is more efficient using C code, which will therefore completely eliminate bridge performance problems and bring the performance of a React Native application even closer to that of a native application.
